Notes to Our Customers
We ask all our customers to please clean their blades before drop-off or pickup. Any blades that are not cleaned prior to us receiving them will result in additional charges or refusal of service. Food and oil debris can cause damage to the stones that we use for sharpening and lead to costly replacements before necessary.
We at Hammond River Sharpening reserve the right to adjust the cost of sharpening based on the condition we receive your knives in.
Knife Drop-Off Made Easy
We're making it easier for you to get your knives to us. Knife drop-off available closer to home!
HOW IT WORKS:
- Located at each drop-off location there will be a safe bin where you can drop off your prepared blades - these bins are stored in a safe spot and not open to the public!
- Once your blades have been picked up by Hammond River Sharpening we will notify you
- You'll be invoiced via email once your blade is sharpened or repaired - PAYMENT CAN ONLY BE MADE VIA E-TRANSFER WHEN USING DROP-OFF LOCATIONS
- Knives will not be returned to the drop-off location until the invoice has been successfully paid. Once payment is complete your items will be safely wrapped and delivered back to the drop-off location. You'll be notified once you're knife is ready for pickup!
- A copy of your emailed invoice is to be presented at time of pickup
HOW TO PREPARE FOR DROP-OFF:
- We ask that you clean your knives of any food debris and/or oils before sending them to be sharpened - FAILURE TO CLEAN YOUR KNIVES PROPERLY WILL RESULT IN A $2 CLEANING CHARGE PER ITEM THAT HAS TO BE CLEANED
- Please wrap your knives for safety - this can look like being rolled in a tea towel, plastic or cardboard sheath, or wax paper. If you're dropping off more than one knife please secure them together so they don't get separated - as long as they're wrapped properly multiple knives can be placed in a bag.
- Labels are provided at the drop-off location to provide Hammond River Sharpening with all of your information - Name, Phone and Email - IF LABELS ARE NOT PROPERLY FILLED OUT KNIVES WILL NOT BE PICKED UP FOR SHARPENING!
